This stepper motor system set up has been used in an industrial site for over 20 years with great success. The motor pictured is about ½ horsepower making it one of the most powerful stepper driver systems worldwide; in addition, stepper motors are strongest at low speeds unlike servo motors which require gearboxes and linkages to slow them down.And again, stepper motors are powerful and exact why they are used in computer disk drive and robot arms.
